Freefall 1984

Freefall 1984 is an online publication examining our spiraling reality, social politics, arts, culture, and beyond.
Intentionally small and built for an audience of readers and individuals that understand the value of everyday life.

Our present day has increasingly felt more jarring, convoluted, and exhausting than any other point in modern history.
The aim of the publication is never to fear-monger, but to instead offer dialogues and grounded approaches in order to escape the free-fall and avoid living in dystopia.

The development of Freefall 1984’s identity took time and patience. Atom’s approach was deliberate, methodical, and iterative, ensuring the right story was being written with the appropriate visual language.
A visual language that mirrors classic paperbacks, magazines, and editorials.

By leveraging negative space throughout the identity, the application of the brand invites and encourages interpretation from the audience. It is this interaction with the work that creates the full experience.
It is not what we say, but what we leave out that often creates impact.
